After two years of mandatory hiatus due to Covid, the 59th edition of the International Choral Singing Competition Seghizzi took place, featuring high-level choirs that competed in an atmosphere of genuine and serene competition.

The jury, chaired by Maestro Eugeniusz Kus, announced the winners for the various categories of the competition during the award ceremony on the evening of Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the Teatro Verdi in Gorizia.

Particularly appreciated was the choir Vikra – Gruppo vocale Glasbena Matica di Trieste, which won the overall first prize of the 32nd Grand Prix, and their conductor Petra Grassi received the Andrea Giorgi Award as the best choir director among the participating ensembles.
